RITAYAN RATH
ARCHITECTURE, INTERIOR, PRODUCT DESIGN, VR, ART, METAVERSE
01 About
While pursuing his Masters in Staedelschule Architecture Class and later on working in 3 Deluxe, Albaker Architects and Mutabor, Ritayan was exposed to the design and construction of sculptural furnitures, interior design and their complexities in realization and various methods and techniques of presentation. Presently based in Berlin, Ritayan is involved in architecture design and construction (mainly office spaces) and art exhibitions/festivals, physical and digital in metaverse platforms.
By being multi-disciplinary in approach, he believes that design-research plays an important part in the function and placement of an object in physical space. The process of design is as important as the storytelling and the presentation of the concept for the perfect spatial and physical simulation.
Ritayan's proficiency includes concept design, VR architectural visualization, 3D modeling, 2D architectural drawings (LPH 1-5), and real-time architectural simulation/storytelling. He has worked on diverse projects, including gastronomy, 5-star hotels, residential apartments, furniture designs, cruise ship interiors, showrooms, and brand architecture.

Several Porsche showrooms are planned and designed across the globe including cities like Palm Springs (Construction completed), Waigaociao (Under construction), Shanghai (Under construction), Dortmund (Concept Phase). The architectural concept of the Porsche Center is based on a modular system. When assembled, they take on an urban character of city blocks. Each module represents a thematic world and embodies the concept of Porsche product in display. The Ground Floor is disected by a highway which is populated by Porsche car models for open display to the public. The dynamic facade around the showroom opens up by twisting itself signifying the entrance and allowing the natural light to penetrate the interior. And during the night it allows the interior ambience to project on the surroundings.

DohAlive is a 5 star design hotel and boutique retail development in Doha, Qatar. The project is located close to Doha International Airport and with good proximity to the central district that is undergoing large scale redevelopment. Large outdoor public areas serve the community by providing an open and natural space to gather. The project embodies the separation of two volumes with the inclusion of Urban Plaza, that opens the building geometrical system to the surrounding urban environment. This blurs the boundary of interiority and exteriority.

New brand design of Volkswagen which was launched in IAA 2019, introduced elements such as vibrant sky, light frames, vibrant walls, etc were added to the concept of ID walk. The Messe was designed around ID walk that takes the visitors and special guests through the overall experience of I.D. concept and the new I.D.3. The space is arranged around a primary central stage and two secondary stages. The rest of the space is designed keeping in mind the group night and public night. The two set ups should be able to seamlessly blend into each other. The coffee lounge and the VIP section is divided by a parametrically controlled facade which opens and closes itself giving a sense of privacy and openness so that the croud inside gets an unobstructed view of the exhibits and the shows.

The second in the series of this sculptural object stands the on the public spaces in the urban landscape. It stands among and presents a contrast to the stubborn city blocks and allows a dynamic flow and circulation along its organic twists. It represents fast paced and chaotic crowd movements in corporate urban space and intends to create an oasis by reacting to the characteristics of it’s surroundings. It is a visual repository for the psychology of a particular time, like a frozen moment or visual symbol. To check out the NFT please click on the link :

“Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.” ― L.M. Montgomery The design of the cemetery opens itself to it's users to mourn their loved ones. Its design is inspired by the traditional Latvian symbols of Mēness and Zalktis. The symbols are juxtaposed around each other to create an opening in the landscape forming an infinity loop, unifying the interior and exterior in one infinity movement. The landscape protrudes perpendicular to the surface of the ground making an accessible mound bracketed by two concrete symmetrical entrances in two sides in the shape of Mēness. The interior constitutes two rooms containing niches and an office space. Mēness in Latvian culture stands for the cycle of life, creation and destruction and natural forces of life. Zalktis represents serpent Goddess or general health and well being.
